In the past few weeks we have been working on a lot of things, namely the hugely requested libfiber support for LLVM by Nekotekina - which found himself rewritting various parts of the LLVM recompiler as a step needed for his fixes. These changes are currently undergoing testing and tweaking, as they're not optimal yet. In the meantime, kd-11 has also been preparing several surprises under the hood which will impact hundreds of games positively.
You'll now see a teaser of some of Demon's Souls running with some of kd-11's fixes.
Expect several videos being published in the coming days as well as updates to RPCS3 to introduce all the mentioned changes as soon as they're ready to roll!
It's time for the improvements to the LLVM recompiler from Nekotekina to finally be released! The entire recompiler has been reworked and as a result of this compatibility is significantly improved. Preliminary test show that basically every game that didn’t work with LLVM now does, regardless of if it uses libfiber or not. We're going to be publishing a series of videos showing several games that were improved by those changes starting today.
For the first and today's video, we have JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: All Star Battle. This was one of the many games that didn't work on PPU LLVM Recompiler before, and now does with Nekotekina's LLVM improvements. Frame rate is upwards of three times higher, and loading times are just a fraction of what they used to be.
As for the big boy Persona 5 many are waiting for, performance boosts are present as Persona 5 now works with the LLVM Recompiler too! However performance is still not stable, @kd-11 and @Nekotekina are currently investigating performance hogs and the overbloom present in the game, so we will have even more coming for you in regards to it!
Expect Nekotekina's Pull Request to be opened in the following few minutes.
Thank you for your support!
